Today we will begin Unit 1 Authors as Mentors.  We will understand how the basic parts of a story help a reader make sense of events.

Hooray! It's MAP assessment day!  I realize that this is not the most exciting way to spend your time in Language Arts, but it is important for me to know how well you read.  Please work on the Make Your Bed response we started it your Writing Journals. When you finish, you may read independently.

Today we will spend most of the period working on MAP for Reading.
